Create Healthy launched its grants application process for region-area nonprofit organizations.

Grants are initially available in four areas:

  • Mental health
  • Childcare and early childhood education
  • Healthy living
  • Health education

Nonprofit organizations working in these areas that provide services in Gillespie, Blanco, Llano, or Mason Counties, or in Comfort are eligible to apply. Deadlines are rolling.

“Create Healthy has an ambitious mission to empower health and wellness for the communities of the Hill Country,” said Jayne Pope, RN, CEO, Create Healthy. “Outcomes-driven grant funding for nonprofit organizations of excellence in our region to support their work is a significant way we are putting our mission into action.”

Create Healthy developed the funding priority areas based on extensive community engagement and feedback over the last 18 months in addition to research on existing programs, services, and areas of opportunity for enhancing and creating additional resource capacity to serve the region.

“With the launch of Create Healthy’s formal grantmaking process, the foundation is setting a course for having a measurable impact on health and wellness in our region,” said Laura Cook, chair of the Create Healthy advisory grants council. “I encourage all interested organizations to take advantage of these tremendous funding opportunities and partner with Create Healthy to achieve their missions and goals.”

In addition to its volunteer Board of Directors, Create Healthy has four community-led advisory councils to guide its work and ensure its philanthropic investments are meeting community needs. These councils provide essential community input into Create Healthy’s investments, grants, scholarships, and impact.
